Workshops

Workshops are made for the need to know basis, covering whatever subject you need as a group to work on at any one time. These workshops are available at any approved venue. Venue assessment are made by Darren - then certified with our insurance re: duty of care).  The groups workshop structure has been developed to work as a 1 -  4 day package for clubs, associations or a group of friends. The topic is selected and each day's format is scheduled at 9am to 12pm & 1pm to 4pm per day (6 hours workshop).  At each workshop your instructor is equipped with a microphone and PA system. This allows everyone in the group to hear the instructor clearly along with non-riders in the grandstand. Workshops are usually conducted in the cooler months between April and September.

What type of Workshop do we need ?

Horse Handling  - basic ground work - catching, leading, moving around a horse safely - general husbandry skills - teeth & feet and trailer loading.

Beginner -  is for the rider who wants to have the confidence in handling horses - catching, leading and moving around your horse safely - general husbandry skills - teeth & feet, saddling, bridling, health & nutrition relating to training and to get a basic understanding of their horse's behaviour and the effectiveness the rider can achieve through feel and technique.

Intermediate - basic riding skills, safety techniques, control, softness and  understanding clear communication between horse and rider through body language and attitude. Topic can be a chosen subject to group's request.

Advanced - These lessons are designed to assist and improve the rider who is passionate and determined about a particular discipline i.e. Dressage, Cutting, Reining, Endurance etc. When we take notice and work with the actual behaviour and way of the horse, both the horse and rider can achieve so much more.

Pony Club Horse Handling - This particular workshop can be designed in many different formats.  The most popular format is when the club usually has more than 6 - 12 riders for the day, so the breakup is 3 groups of 6 riders with one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. In the price list below, there are *  2 examples of the cost per rider per day, however depending on the number of riders in each group the prices will alter, and the flat day rate still applies.

This includes three, 3 hour workshop sessions, campsite fees, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, use of horse yards and full use of the shed facilities. The first of the 3 workshop sessions is held on Friday night under lights, the other 2 are held on the following Saturday.
