What type of Workshop do we need ?
Horse Handling - basic ground work - catching, leading,
moving around a horse safely - general husbandry skills - teeth
& feet and trailer loading.
Beginner - is for the rider who wants to have the
confidence in handling horses - catching, leading and moving
around your horse safely - general husbandry skills - teeth &
feet, saddling, bridling, health & nutrition relating to
training and to get a basic understanding of their horse's
behaviour and the effectiveness the rider can achieve through
feel and technique.
Intermediate - basic riding skills, safety techniques,
control, softness and understanding clear communication between
horse and rider through body language and attitude. Topic can be
a chosen subject to group's request.
Advanced - These lessons are designed to assist and improve
the rider who is passionate and determined about a particular
discipline i.e. Dressage, Cutting, Reining, Endurance etc. When
we take notice and work with the actual behaviour and way of the
horse, both the horse and rider can achieve so much more.
Pony Club Horse Handling - This particular workshop can be
designed in many different formats. The most popular format is
when the club usually has more than 6 - 12 riders for the day,
so the breakup is 3 groups of 6 riders with one hour in the
morning and one hour in the afternoon. In the price list below,
there are * 2 examples of the cost per rider per day, however
depending on the number of riders in each group the prices will
alter, and the flat day rate still applies.
Workshops booked at the Equine Communication Training Centre
Workshops provide a group environment for you to work with your
horse. This environment adds another dimension to your
partnership giving you the opportunity to improve your
communication and leadership. Every workshop is different as
each is tailor made to suit the individuals attending. Perfect
for you and your group of friends, a maximum of six riders per
instructor can attend a workshop at any one time. This ensures
that everyone gets appropriate individual and group time,
allowing people to work at their own pace and face any
challenges, in a safe environment. The price is $260. This
includes three, 3 hour workshop sessions, campsite fees,
breakfast and lunch on Saturday, use of horse yards and full use
of the shed facilities. The first of the 3 workshop sessions is
held on Friday night under lights, the other 2 are held on the
following Saturday. A mixture of ground and saddle work is
presented in the training sessions according to the needs of
participants.
Pony Club Horse Handling - This particular workshop is
held at either the Kilcoy Showground or the Woodford Showground
and can take many different formats. The most popular one is
when the club usually has more than 6 - 12 riders in total for
the day, so an example breakup is 3 groups of 6 riders - one
hour session in the morning and one hour session in the
afternoon. When getting your group together you may add extra
riders and some riders may pull out, so depending on the number
of riders in each group on the day the prices may alter per
rider. However the flat day rate applies (see table below)
